Adswerve × Crafted
Founded in 2009, Adswerve is an award-winning data, media and tech consultancy. In 2024, they partnered with a creative agency to create a new brand for the company.
Adswerve built their site leveraging Hubspot as their content management system. Hubspot provided the team with rich editing capabilities that enabled their team to quickly update and release new content. The team at Adswerve wanted to keep their existing CMS, and bring the new brand identity to life across their rich, deep archive of content.
Goal
Bring Adswerve’s new brand to life leveraging their existing CMS. Allow the team to stage new content, while preparing for a “big bang” launch date in a couple months.
Approach
Quick iterative feedback cycles with Adswerve. Crafted collaborated Adswerve’s creative agency to ensure the brand and identity was faithfully translated to the CMS, and adapted through being made responsive.
Project story
“The AdSwerve project was a total rebrand of the marketing of the AdSwerve's website […] Crafted’s role was digesting their new brand identity and painting that across the rest of their website,” said Ted Poatsy, software engineer who worked on the project.
Crafted leveraged their knowledge of the Hubspot CMS and best practices in responsive design to bring their new brand identity to life. However, even the most straight-forward appearing projects have elements that prove challenging.
One of our goals was to enable the team to work within the new brand, with their existing content, at the same time the old brand was live.
“We were doing something that HubSpot hadn't envisioned,” Ted describes, “So we had to be creative. We created a novel solution within the Hubspot framework.” Crafted used some of Hubspot’s existing staging functionality, but added a second theme that manually worked around some of Hubspot’s global settings. Until the launch where they could configure them globally without breaking the current theme. “
Outcome
“On the day of our soft launch, we had a meeting with [Adswerve], and the concern and stress that was present the day before had been alleviated, as they were looking through the website,” Ted describes. The launch went without a hitch. Crafted switched the site over to the new pages and did a quick switch of some global Hubspot variables to move te new brand from staging to global. Ted, adds, “it felt great to deliver a product that they were happy with.”
Marie added from the Adswerve side, “I’ve launched multiple websites throughout my career, and Crafted was hands-down the easiest to work with because of their frequent communication and dedication to projects.“
Crafted’s work with Adswerve was ultimately a success. Adswerve’s thousands of monthly visitors were greeted with the new brand and no downtime.
